During a semester in junior college ages ago I met a my friend Tom Hampson who had recently moved to California from Baltimore. We started talking and among the similarities we discussed, there were difference and the unknown. After talking for awhile he introduced me to a band named Fugazi. That's the day my personal and music life changed forever. The power, conviction, intelligence and talent hit me. I was a bass player at the time and eventually transitioning to guitarist as well as a singer/songwriter. Currently I am writing electronic music which seems like a big shift from where it all started, but fundamentally Fugazi has always influenced my path of music and center. I was fortunate to see Fugazi once in SF for a Food Not Bombs show and it's an experience that still rings in my head. To this day the message of Fugazi and their resonance needs to be carried onto new ears and minds. A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
