I can listen to an album like 13 Songs or End Hits today and get that same rush as I did when I was initially absorbing them in my youth. I always loved the fact that on top of it being incredibly tight and dynamic on a musical level, you walked away listening to those albums with an education. That locked-in juggernaut of a rhythm section of Brendan and Joe. Those sidewinding guitar lines paired with the unique and complimentary vocal stylings of Ian and Guy. The sheer honesty and brute force approach to making damned sure that you knew that sexism, racism, misogyny and violence were NOT going to be tolerated. Fugazi set the standard for what it meant to be a true DO-IT-YOUR-OWN-DAMNED-SELF band, which inspired a generation or two to get out there, see the world, dare to be themselves without hesitation, and to keep making art on their terms. - Andy Pohl | SNIPERS!!
