about

From the album The Argument

lyrics

When did a difference become a disease?

credits

from Everybody Wants Somewhere: A Tribute To Fugazi Volumes I and II, released April 30, 2017
All instrumentation and vocals by Ryan Michael Keller, additional keys by Emmett Kai of Blap Deli

Recorded & Mixed by Ryan Keller

The first Fugazi album I heard was The Argument. They were already broken up by the time I discovered them. So I went backwards through their discography to discover and goldmine of powerful socially aware songs in such a distinct style that this band will always hold a dear place in my heart. But especially that album. I chose to cover the title track from the argument because it is still as relevant today as it was when it was written. These are strange days where in my opinion we are so focused on the differences between people when I believe that we should be seeking a common thread that ties humanity together. - Ryan Michael Keller
